Domiciliary Medication Training
Our 6 hour domiciliary medication training course provides practical, face to face training for staff who support people with medicines in their own homes, supported living or community settings.
The course combines essential medication knowledge with practical activities, MAR documentation and realistic care scenarios. Learners develop the skills and confidence to administer medicines safely, recognise concerns and know when to stop and seek advice.

Domiciliary Medication Training Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
• Understand their roles and responsibilities
• Differentiate between prompting, assisting and administering medication
• Apply person centred medication practice
• Understand consent, refusal and mental capacity considerations
• Carry out safe medication administration checks
• Read medication labels and instructions accurately
• Complete MAR and eMAR records appropriately
• Understand PRN and time sensitive medicines
• Recognise medication errors, omissions and discrepancies

Practical Activities and Assessment
Learners complete practical activities, MAR exercises, realistic scenarios and a knowledge assessment.
Successful learners receive a Training in Partnership Certificate of Achievement.
Completion of training does not automatically confirm workplace competence. Employers remain responsible for assessing staff as competent for the medication tasks they are expected to undertake.
